Unity for HMI: Design car cockpits of the future with Elektrobit

One of the biggest changes taking place in the industry is the digitalization of the dashboard. In Unity for HMI: Design car cockpits of the future with Elektrobit, you’ll find best practices for developing best-in-class automotive human-machine interfaces (HMIs). See a demo of a complete automotive cockpit user interface that brings together EB GUIDE – EB’s unique and comprehensive HMI development toolchain – and Unity’s real-time 3D technology.

Automotive HMI Template

Unity can be deployed to render the Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) for embedded systems in automotive and other applications. This project template demonstrates how to build an HMI for an automotive infotainment system, covering UI layouts, custom shaders and simulated backend signals that can be used to test the HMI experience. The project contains a fictional vehicle featuring three displays with custom UI/UX design as well as a number of buttons and switches that can be simulated via a convenient keyboard mapping feature.

Unity and HERE team up to turbocharge cars’ digital dashboards

Navigation specialist HERE and game engine developer Unity have teamed up on a platform for next-gen infotainment systems, promising to streamline the creation of high-tech 3D interfaces for new cars. Though touchscreens have been growing in size in modern vehicles, it’s only in recent years that we’ve seen UI development accelerate as drivers increasingly expect the sort of interaction that they’re used to from their smartphones.
