Gum is a new app that lets you build worlds in augmented reality that you can capture and share with your friends. Gum is in the Alpha stage, which means it's still a work in progress, and the feedback will help shape where we take Gum next.

If you are new to building in augmented reality, no problem. Here's how you get started.
Remix Scenes
As a first step, we recommend scrolling through the featured highlights from creators. Click "Try it" to place the scene in your space. The size can be adjusted by making it bigger or smaller or by rotating it. Make it your own by customizing objects, layering in effects, or adding your own images. Have fun – this is a totally new way to interact with digital art!

Select "Create Scene" to start from scratch.
To start, place objects in your space and effects, like rain or snow. Design your own look with customzation: add your own images or videos to shapes, adjust colors, and control opacity. As you move around your scene, anything added will remain in place, so try walking around your scene. Bring your creation to life with a song from the library. It will play as soon as you start recording.

Multiple clips can be combined to make a video. This way, you can change enviroments, swap outfits, or add new effects. Not recording with a friend? Select the timer icon to start recording within 3 or 10 seconds. Share your video with friends or post to TikTok or Instagram.
